BIAB stands for "Builder In A Bottle." It's a type of gel nail product that is used to create stronger and more durable nails.

One of the biggest benefits of BIAB is that it allows nails to grow out naturally and stronger underneath. This is why it is popular for people who want to transition from acrylics, as it provides a strong layer of protection that helps prevent breaks and splits.

Unlike regular nail polish, gel polish is cured under a UV or LED light and lasts significantly longer. It's also more resistant to chipping.

A gel manicure typically lasts about two to three weeks, depending on how you care for your nails.

After a gel manicure, it's crucial to keep your hands moisturised, apply cuticle oil daily, and to wear gloves when doing any kind of housework or handling harsh chemicals. Avoid picking or peeling the gel polish to prevent nail damage.

Cuticle oil provides numerous benefits for your nails and the skin around them. Here are some of the key benefits:

  1. Moisturising: Cuticle oil is used to moisturise the cuticle, skin, and nail area. It softens the skin and helps to prevent dryness and cracking
  2. Healthier Nails:  Daily use of cuticle oil can help to make your nails look healthier and more vibrant. It promotes nail growth and can make your nails stronger

  3. Protection: Cuticle oil creates a barrier against the damage caused by everyday wear and tear. This can help to protect your nails from issues like hangnails and fungal infections.

LVL stands for Length-Volume-Lift, and it's a type of eyelash treatment that enhances the appearance of your natural lashes. It's a popular alternative to eyelash extensions, as it requires less maintenance and provides a more natural look.

The process involves three main steps:

  1. Lifting: Your lashes are straightened at the roots using a silicone shield. This gives them an upward and outward lift, which makes the lashes look longer and your eyes appear more open and bright.

  2. Volumising: A volumising solution is applied to your lashes to help add thickness and structure.

  3. Tinting: Your lashes are then tinted to make them look darker, which further enhances the overall effect.

The result is longer, darker lashes that last for six to eight weeks. It's a great option if you're looking for a way to enhance your lashes without applying mascara or false lashes every day.

A patch test is required 48 hours prior to the treatment to make sure you're not allergic to the products used.

LVL treatments typically last about six to eight weeks, depending on the individual's lash growth cycle.

The LVL process usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour.

For the first 24 hours after your treatment, it's important to avoid getting your lashes wet, avoid heat, and do not apply mascara. After this period, you can treat your lashes as normal - still taking care.

While LVL lash treatments are generally safe for most people, there are certain circumstances and conditions where it may not be advisable:

  1. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Although the treatment is largely safe, the hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy and breastfeeding may alter the effectiveness of the treatment, therefore it is not recommended.

  2. Allergies/Sensitivities: If you have known allergies or sensitivities to the ingredients used in the LVL treatment, it would not be advisable. A patch test should be carried out 24 hours prior to the treatment to ensure no adverse reaction occurs.

  3. Eye Conditions: Certain eye conditions, such as chronic dry eye, conjunctivitis, or any type of eye damage or eye disease, may make you unable to have this treatment.

  4. Recent Eye Surgeries: If you've recently undergone eye surgery, you should consult with your doctor before getting an LVL treatment.

  5. Skin Conditions: Certain skin conditions, especially those affecting the skin around the eyes (like eczema or psoriasis), may mean you should avoid this treatment.

  6. Weak or Damaged Lashes: If your lashes are weak, damaged, or sparse, the treatment may not give you the results you want, and could potentially cause further harm to your lashes.
